13 FitSM training sessions delivered in 2022-2023
Learn to manage IT services using FitSM, a pragmatic and lightweight standard
During 2022 and 2023, EGI Foundation, with its partners, delivered a total of 13 FitSM training sessions (6 in 2022 – 7 in 2023).
EGI Foundation and its partners offer different types of FitSM Training – there’s the basic Foundation level (FND), aimed at everybody involved in the provisioning of (federated) IT services (basic ITSM knowledge and introduction of the FitSM model), but we also offer two Advanced courses. These courses are suitable for those looking to manage a specific process, or just increase their overall experience in (federated) ITSM: one for Service Planning and Delivery (SPD) and one for Service Operation and Control (SOC). These Advanced courses are only accessible after successfully completing the Foundation level. Those completing both advanced level courses are eligible for the Expert level course, which will put emphasis on methods and real-world examples of implementation and improvement of ITSM, and look at common problems such as process interfaces and the challenges of organisational change.

EGI Foundation and its partners deliver the various FitSM Trainings online and in-person, and for different target audiences. Internal courses are organised for EGI Staff, who are required to complete at least the Foundation level, but we also deliver the trainings at the request of projects and partner organisations. In 2022, we organised 2 internal trainings, 4 at the request of projects and 7 for partners. In total, 121 people received a training: 83 at Foundation level, 14 Advanced SOC and 24 Advanced SPD.
The total success rates are impressive: 97% successfully passes the Foundation level exam, 93% the Advanced SOC level and 87.5% the Advanced SPD training.
