An SLA to Ensure the Sustainability of the EUreka3D DataHub

After the conclusion of EUreka3D in December 2024, EGI and EUreka3D announce signing an SLA to continue supporting the EUreka3D DataHub.

This agreement will provide EUreka3D with essential resources, enabling the platform to continue its mission of preserving and sharing cultural heritage.

The SLA secures support across several key areas:

  • Cloud Compute: Cyfronet will provide 32 virtual CPU cores, powering the visualisation of 3D models within the EUreka3D platform. The compute power is crucial for the 3D viewer, allowing users to interact with digitised objects.
  • DataHub: Cyfronet will also contribute 30TB of storage to the EUreka3D DataHub. This substantial capacity will house the diverse data captured during the digitisation process, including raw digital files, metadata, and paradata.
  • Authentication and Authorisation: GRNET will provide EGI Check-in services. This will ensure secure access to the DataHub, protecting valuable 3D objects and data assets while managing the EUreka3D Community.

The renewed support from the EGI Federation is vital for EUreka3D's ongoing efforts to make cultural heritage more accessible and interconnected. By simplifying 3D digitization and promoting data sharing, EUreka3D is contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage for future generations and fostering global appreciation.
