EGI Launches New Strategy Development Process for 2025-2029

EGI is embarking on a new chapter, setting its sights on the next phase of innovation, delivery and support for the European Research Area. The process will be guided by a dedicated task force composed of members from the EGI Council and the EGI Foundation. To ensure alignment with the research community's evolving needs and the broader landscape, wider consultations will also be organised.

The Process

This strategy development process will be collaborative, drawing insights from diverse stakeholders across the EGI ecosystem. Also, we'll research emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities to create a roadmap that reflects the ambitions and needs of our entire community.

"By working together and sharing our ideas and expertise, I'm confident that we can create a strategy that will effectively support the evolving needs of our community and drive meaningful progress for EGI", says Philipp Wieder, Chair of the Task Force.

Timeline and Key Milestones

The task force will develop the EGI Federation Strategy for 2025-2029 through a phased approach: groundwork in September, stakeholder consultations and outcome analysis in October/November 2024, followed by trends, challenges and opportunities analysis in December 2024. The task force will draft and refine the strategy between January and March 2025 with stakeholder validation, with finalisation and dissemination planned for April and May 2025.

Your Input Matters

We invite the entire EGI community to contribute to this strategic process. Your insights and feedback are invaluable in shaping the future of our Federation. Please take a moment to complete our survey by October 27th.

Let's build a stronger, more innovative EGI together!
