EGI2024: Co-located Events

The EGI2024 conference offers a full programme, with the core activities running from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. However, various projects also organise interesting pre-conference and post-conference sessions. To keep you in Lecce until the very end of the conference, here is an overview of the sessions that will take place!

On Tuesday morning, newcomers can attend the informative "EGI101" session introducing the EGI ecosystem.

Also on Tuesday, the GreenDIGIT project will showcase its green computing initiatives, including an analysis of existing efforts across EGI, other research infrastructures, and partner institutions in the session “Green Computing: Towards Greener Digital Services”.

The LETHE project and partners will discuss strategies and collaborations to reduce dementia risks using digital solutions and health data, highlighting EGI's contribution to the project during the session “The LETHE Project: Identifying and Reducing the Risk Factors Causing Dementia Through Digital Solutions and Health Data”.

Following the closing plenary session on Thursday, there's another set of events.
The TANGO project will present its secure data-sharing platform and explore related policy considerations, while panel workshops will address trust management, AI tools, and data governance in the workshop “TANGO: a Fair, Responsible and Energy-efficient Data Sharing Platform”.

The ACES project workshop around “Envisioning the Future: Trustworthy AI in Self-Managing Cloud Environments” will delve into integrating AI with cloud computing to create efficient, secure, and self-managing systems.

On Thursday afternoon, the open meeting, the “EGI Federated Cloud community working meeting,” will take place on the EGI Federated Cloud, its current status, and future development plans.

Finally, the EGI's TRE Working Group will present and discuss a report on trusted research environments and sensitive data management, offering a broad overview and future directions.
