Carlos Brandt is a Software Architect at EGI Foundation, he is part of the Technical Solutions Team. A specialist in different layers of the scientific software stack, from system administration to database modelling, numerical simulations to web development, from image processing to distributed computing.
Carlos has a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a Master’s in Numerical Simulations from the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing, both in Brazil, leading to a career in computational Astrophysics in Italy at the Sapienza University of Rome and the Italian Space Agency’s Data Center.
In Germany, Carlos worked on numerous European projects on engineering geospatial data. Carlos is a big admirer of the open-source software movement and all efforts to improve accessibility to knowledge.
