Gianni Dalla Torre

Gianni Dalla Torre is a Cloud Community Manager for the EGI Foundation. He joined EGI in June 2020. He has worked as policy expert for the H-CLOUD and the EUCloudEdgeIoT (UNLOCK CEI) projects, has supported the coordination and delivery for EGI cloud activities to user communities, and has contributed as cloud expert to the EOSC-hub, EGI-ACE and EOSC-future projects,. He has represented the EGI foundation in the GoSAFE and DIGITbrain projects.
Previously he was working as a Senior Cloud System Engineer for MicroFocus – Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He has more than ten years of experience in the Scientific European Community, working as an E-Infrastructure Integration Specialist for the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and as a Technologist for the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). His activity was mainly focused on the integration of cloud infrastructure with high-performance distributed computing, collaborating on several international and EU projects (GA4GH, EOSCPilot, EMBL-EBI Cloud Portal, EGI Federated Cloud, VOMS, WNoDeS, ETICS II). Gianni holds MSc in Computer Science Engineering from The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).
