Marco Rorro works as an AI Solutions Architect at the EGI Foundation to support international research communities by enabling their machine learning and deep learning applications and platforms on distributed compute infrastructures. In addition, he works on improving and building the EGI services on AI and HPC.
Marco previously worked for the CASPUR and the CINECA HPC centers for a total of 20 years. He participated in several European projects, such as PRACE, Human Brain Project, EUDAT, ENVRIplus and SeaDataCloud, providing support on data and cloud technologies, parallel and GPU computing, data analytics and machine learning. He managed the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) data node for ICTP. He was a member of scientific advisory board for the Italian NVIDIA AI Technology Center. He holds a MSc in Mathematics and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Sapienza University of Rome.
