Montserrat joined the EGI Foundation in April 2022 as Senior Strategy and Innovation Officer. Among her responsibilities in EU-funded projects are strategic planning, management, and delivery of services, as well as development of innovative use of research infrastructures.
She began her career in the private sector as a technical consultant and IT project manager, and from 2009 she specialised in supporting the European scientific community. Throughout her accomplished career, she has held various roles in project, service, and quality management in European and global projects at several institutions, such as the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Elixir Hub, EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute, before joining the EGI Foundation.
Montserrat’s extensive background includes an Executive Master in Management of Research Infrastructures from the University of Milano-Bicocca, a MSc and BSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia, (BarcelonaTech), as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Parallel Computing Architectures for Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Furthermore, she is certified as a Project Management Professional, FitSM Expert, Data Protection Practitioner, Scrum Master, and Scrum Product Owner.
